Saturday Wonders - Classes for Gifted Children
Saturday Wonders exclusively serves low- and middle-income families who would not otherwise be able to afford enrichment programming.
Classes
Classes
• Unique, multi-disciplinary, creative curriculum designed by gifted-experienced teachers
• Small classes, individual attention for all students
• Hands-on, stimulating, innovative classes
• Student evaluations of impact and learning conducted at conclusion of sessions
• Classes conducted in English
• Held at Huston-Tillotson University, 900 Chicon St., Austin, TX 78702
• Open for students ages 8-10 (as of January 1, 2013)
• Fall (9/21, 10/5, 10/19, 11/2,11/16) semester from 9 AM–2:30 PM
• Lunch included
Registration
• Online or paper registration available in English or Spanish
• First class is free
• Cost: Sliding scale starting at $30 per semester (based on need)
• Admissions ongoing until classes are full (limited to 75 students)

Since 1998, the Austin Museum Partnership has hosted Austin Museum Day – a free, city-wide rediscovery of Austin museums. Austin Museum Day, held on the penultimate Sunday of the month of September, is AMP’s premier event and represents a critical part of the vibrant cultural history of Central Texas. It provides families with a unique opportunity to access the dynamic museum community including local exhibits and activities at over 40 participating institutions at no charge!

Parents, Guardians, and Teachers may nominate students for Austin ISD's Gifted and Talented Program by September 20, 2013.
El Departamento de Servicios Académicos Avanzados del Distrito Escolar Independiente de Austin (AISD) se complace en anunciar que se están aceptando nominaciones de estudiantes de primaria (los grados K-12) para el Programa de Dotados y Talentosos (GT) y se aceptarán durante septiembre. Los padres de familia y custodios que estén interesados deben comunicarse con el representante del programa de la escuela para informarse de la fecha límite de entrega de solicitudes o para recibir ayuda con el proceso de nominaciones. Para llevar a cabo las evaluaciones del programa, se exige el permiso de los padres o custodios antes de la fecha límite de la escuela. Se utilizan una variedad de medidas para evaluar a los estudiantes, entre ellas evaluaciones para estudiantes bilingües.
