One winning poem per grade will be selected by a panel of published poets. Winning poems will be combined with artwork by ACC students and made into posters and billboards that will be displayed throughout Austin.
An exhibit of winning posters will be displayed at Highland Mall, and a poetry reading and reception will be held in September, 2014.
To participate, students must have their parent's or legal guardian's permission. Students can obtain a permission slip from their teachers or online at ahblogs.com/visionandvoice.
All poetry will be published on Voice, Austin ISD's new digital press. Poems of all languages will be accepted.
This contest is a joint project between Austin Independent School District and Austin Community College. For more information, use the link above or call 512-223-3352.
