The African American Community Heritage Festival is scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Huston-Tillotson University, located at 900 Chicon Street in Austin. The event will feature arts, dance and crafts, a health fair, a kid's zone, food and fun for all. Guests will also have an opportunity to listen to a performance by the former lead R&B singer of Shalamar, successful Billboard Chart soloist, Howard Hewett, national recording artist Chris Hayzel and other talented local entertainers.
This is a free community event, presented in partnership with Representative Dawnna Dukes, Huston-Tillotson University, AT&T, the Austin Area Urban League and the City of Austin; with proceeds going to the Huston-Tillotson Scholarship Fund.
